Terms of Service

The agreement between you and Plenifi governing your use of our service. Please read these terms carefully before creating an account.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By creating an account with Plenifi, Inc. ("Plenifi," "we," "us," or "our") or otherwise accessing or using our application and website (collectively, the "Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, you may not use the Service.

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we make material changes, we will notify you by email and update the date at the top of this page. Your continued use of the Service after such changes constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

2. Eligibility

To use the Service, you must:

  • Be at least 18 years of age
  • Be capable of forming a binding legal agreement
  • Not be barred from using the Service under applicable law
  • Provide accurate and complete registration information

3. Account Terms

3.1 Registration

You must provide a valid email address and create a password to register for the Service. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. You agree to notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account.

3.2 Household Accounts

Plenifi supports household-level organization. If you create or join a household, you agree to share selected financial data with other members of that household as configured in your account settings. You are responsible for inviting only individuals you trust and authorize to view your shared financial information.

3.3 Account Security

You are responsible for safeguarding your account. We strongly recommend enabling two-factor authentication. Plenifi will never ask you for your password via email or any other channel outside the application.

4. Description of Service

Plenifi is a read-only financial aggregation service. We provide:

  • Unified views of banking, credit, and investment accounts connected through Plaid and SnapTrade
  • Net worth tracking across all connected accounts
  • Cash flow analysis and spending categorization
  • Budget creation and tracking
  • Investment portfolio performance and allocation views
  • Recurring transaction detection and forecasting
  • Household-level financial aggregation

Plenifi cannot initiate transactions, move money, execute trades, or take any action on your financial accounts. We are a data aggregation and visualization tool only.

5. Third-Party Services

The Service relies on third-party providers to connect to your financial institutions:

We are not responsible for the availability, accuracy, or functionality of these third-party services. Connection issues with your financial institutions caused by Plaid, SnapTrade, or the institutions themselves are outside our direct control, though we will make reasonable efforts to resolve them.

6. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Use the Service for any illegal purpose or in violation of any applicable law
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Service, other accounts, or connected systems
  • Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble any part of the Service
  • Use automated tools (bots, scrapers, crawlers) to access the Service without our express written permission
  • Interfere with or disrupt the Service or servers or networks connected to the Service
  • Impersonate any person or entity, or falsely represent your affiliation with any person or entity
  • Share your account credentials with any third party or allow anyone else to access your account
  • Use the Service to provide financial aggregation services to third parties

7. Intellectual Property

The Service, including its design, code, graphics, interfaces, and all content created by Plenifi, is owned by Plenifi, Inc. and protected by Canadian and international intellectual property laws. You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to access and use the Service for your personal, non-commercial financial management purposes.

You retain ownership of your financial data. By using the Service, you grant Plenifi a limited license to process your data solely to provide and improve the Service.

8. Disclaimers

8.1 Not Financial Advice

Plenifi is not a financial advisor, broker, or fiduciary. Nothing in the Service constitutes financial, investment, tax, or legal advice. The information displayed in Plenifi — including net worth calculations, investment returns, cash flow summaries, and budget tracking — is provided for informational purposes only. You should consult qualified professionals before making financial decisions.

8.2 Data Accuracy

While we strive to display accurate data, Plenifi relies on information provided by your financial institutions through Plaid and SnapTrade. We do not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or timeliness of data provided by third parties. Account balances, transaction details, and investment positions may be delayed or may not reflect pending transactions.

You should always verify information displayed in Plenifi against your official account statements from your financial institutions.

8.3 Service Availability

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available." We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free from harmful components. We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Service at any time, with or without notice.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law:

  • Plenifi shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to loss of profits, data, or goodwill, arising from your use of or inability to use the Service
  • Plenifi shall not be liable for any financial decisions you make based on information displayed in the Service
  • Plenifi shall not be liable for inaccuracies in data provided by Plaid, SnapTrade, or your financial institutions
  • Our total aggregate liability for any claims arising from the Service shall not exceed the amount you have paid us in the twelve (12) months preceding the claim

10. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Plenifi, its officers, directors, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, and expenses (including legal fees) arising from your use of the Service, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any third party's rights.

11. Termination

11.1 By You

You may terminate your account at any time through your account settings or by contacting us at legal@plenifi.com. Upon termination, your data will be deleted in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

11.2 By Plenifi

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time if:

  • You violate these Terms
  • We are required to do so by law
  • We reasonably believe your account has been compromised
  • We discontinue the Service

Where reasonably possible, we will provide notice before termination and offer the opportunity to export your data.

12. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Province of Newfoundland and Labrador, Canada, and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any dispute arising from these Terms or the Service shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts located in St. John's, Newfoundland and Labrador, Canada.

13. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable or invalid, that provision shall be limited or eliminated to the minimum extent necessary, and the remaining provisions shall remain in full force and effect.

14. Entire Agreement

These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, Cookie Policy, and Data Processing Agreement, constitute the entire agreement between you and Plenifi regarding the Service and supersede all prior agreements and understandings.
